A Message from President Douglas
Dear Students, Faculty, Staff and
Bristol Community College provides an accessible, innovative and inclusive education that prepares students to navigate and succeed in our ever-changing world. We stand strong in offering open access to high-quality, affordable academic programs, including associate degree and certificate programs. We are committed to excellence in teaching and learning and provide academic preparation for transfer to four-year institutions, career preparation for entry into high-demand occupational fields, developmental coursework, and lifelong learning opportunities.
We are inspired by our students and their resilience to continue to learn and grow despite the barriers they may face. They are resourceful, strong and brave, and they are our reason for doing all that we do here at Bristol.
Whether in person, online, or in a hybrid capacity, we are here for our students now and into the future. Now is the time to gain a high-quality and affordable education that will lead you on a path to your career goals.
To allow easy access, we’ve expanded our remote services, our technology, our partnerships with local industry and our educational resources in a way that is equitable for all. Whether our students have just graduated high school, are new to the English language, are juggling children and other responsibilities, or are coming back to college after years away from learning, we have programs in place to offer them support and guidance.
We have continued our building projects so our college locations in Attleboro, New Bedford and Taunton each have their own Library Learning Commons that provide support, tutoring and valuable resources with similar services available at our Fall River Campus.
Together, we are creating a college-going, student-ready culture that is equitable for all of our learners. We are dedicated to inclusion for all, and we are mindful of eliminating any barriers that our community faces when seeking out higher learning. We are thankful to the many people in our community that contribute to our success, and they should be proud because our success means a brighter future for our students and our local economy.
Laura L. Douglas, Ph.D.
